Overview

Away from the busier resorts of the Algarve, the western coast of Portugal is a dramatic and exhilarating destination.

The peaceful parc of San Pedro de Moel captures the spirit of the west perfectly. The parc nestles in the plump folds of the Costa de Prata, shaded by pine plantations, and just a short walk from the sea. Around and About

Sao Pedro de Moel is a sunny, colourful, typically Portuguese town with lots of charm. Western Portugal is a region of fine art treasures, from porcelain to crystal, as well as its gastronomy, strongly influenced by the sea and counterbalanced by its tasty Bairrada wines. Nazaré, with its stunning beach and steep cliffs, is picture-postcard material, while Obidos is like an open-air museum – a walled medieval town with narrow winding streets, whitewashed houses and tiny tavernas.
