Take a look at some of the local recommendations for days out and activities our customers have shared with us following their holiday at St Avit Loisirs.
"The Aquarium du Perigord Noir and the Gouffre de Proumeyssac near Le Bugue were very good on rainy or overcast days. Les Grottes du Roc de Cazelle were brilliant and even kept our 3 year old entertained. Sarlat was fantastic, one of the most beautiful towns I've ever visited - very good for couples especially."
A. Heppell, Avon
"The Gouffre de Padirac is a bit of a drive from the parc but worth it. Canoeing down the Dordogne river was fantastic."
P. Griffiths, Somerset
"Sarlat has lovely winding streets and is a nice place to go for a meal. Canoeing on the Dordogne was fantastic, very picturesque but busy! For a quieter trip, the Vézère river is excellent. If you choose a 2-man canoe with a child in front we recommend you ask for a double-ended oar for the adult in case your child wants to get out to paddle! Limeuil is very beautiful and ideal for a picnic by the river, under the trees."
K. Lovegrove, Worcestershire
"Canoeing the Vézère river was more relaxed than the Dordogne river. Bergerac is beautiful and has a great Carrefour hypermarket! The beach at Brem-sur-Mer is good for bodyboarding."
A. Keane, North Yorkshire
"Kayaking down the Dordogne river is an absolute must, such an amazing day that everyone in the family can enjoy regardless of age or physical ability, followed by a visit to the medieval town of Sarlat. It's simply breathtaking with an excellent mix of old style market areas in the medieval quarter. The local cuisine, too, is fabulous!"
A. Martin, Lancashire
"We enjoyed Castelnaud and canoeing on the Dordogne."
S. Matthew, Middlesex
"La Pergola restaurant in Le Bugue is excellent and Le Pha chinese restaurant was also very good. We also enjoyed the Thursday market in Domme."
S. Donoghue, Co. Meath
"We went canoeing locally and visited the castles. We also went to the Indian Forest near Sarlat. Our son is only 5 but he was able to take part in quite a few of the courses. The instructors were very helpful."
J. Greer, Bristol
"We enjoyed Bergerac and we really like Sarlat. The cave at Rouffignac was very interesting but not quite as dramatic as the Gouffre de Padirac. Roque de St Christophe was also interesting and we very much enjoyed canoeing on the Dordogne."
P. Mackriell, Cheshire
