Those looking for the perfect beach holiday and families with younger children will find Les Ecureuils an ideal choice. Just opposite the parc, a sandy beach backed by dunes stretches for miles. St Hilaire-de-Riez is just a short drive away. On-parc, the attractive swimming pool complex features a waterchute, indoor pool and poolside bar sheltered from sea breezes. In addition, the parc has just added an indoor playcentre offering arts, crafts and activities for creative kids. The bar and restaurant has also been extended and refurbished. Take a look at some of the local recommendations for days out and activities our customers have shared with us following their holiday at Les Ecureuils
"The Feeling Forest was great fun for the kids and adults, although our children were a little young for the quad biking and paintballing. The beach was great too, the kids loved collecting the thousands of hermit crabs in the morning!"
P. Lear, Northamptonshire
"The beach is fabulous - very clean and not too crowded. Would recommend the Feeling Forest tree climbing adventure park, a fantastic way to spend the day!"
E. Pausey, Middlesex
"Oceanile at Noirmoutier is a good day out, especially if you've got good weather. Gets very busy though so would recommend you take a packed lunch. St Gilles Croix de Vie is a lovely town with some good markets and shops, and is great for sight-seeing and restaurants."
J. Grainger, Gateshead
"St Jean de Monts has a lovely beach - very big and very clean. On a poor weather day we went over to Noirmoutier and visited the butterfly park and aquarium which were both excellent. There was a great choice of places to eat as well. Slightly further out was the zoo at les Sables d'Olonne which was also brilliant - really nice with plenty to see."
S. Dyer, Staffordshire
"Puy du Fou was a great day out, we really enjoyed sitting in a roman amphitheatre watching the chariot racing! St Gilles Croix de Vie is a pretty town too, just 5 minutes' drive from the site."
N. Ball, Staffordshire
"St Gilles Croix de Vie was lovely with lots of restaurants and bars, a great market and a large sandy beach. St Jean de Monts is quite 'touristy' and has a great beach and lovely esplanade, close to the parc. The zoo at les Sables d'Olonne made for a lovely day out; it's nice and shady, you can get close to the animals and it's a good size for children. It took just under an hour to drive there from the parc. So many sandy beaches in the area."
W. Couper, Kent
